The BTC Colour Tracker challenge debuted in January 2024. More than 100 players signed up to kickstart the new year cracking Codes and tracking Stamps in the BASICS 1 collection.

If you missed that debut, don’t worry… January 1 may be a good day to start something new. But any day is a good day for colour, and a new round of BASICS 1 colour tracking is starting soon!

There are 400 colours in the complete BreakThroughColour gamut. This free downloadable BASICS 1 calendar PDF gives you the very best starter set, a print-and-play way to up your colour game and explore a new colour (almost) every day.

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing I selected the correct colours 😄

WHAT’S A ‘COLOUR CODE’?

Every colour in the BreakThroughColour system has its own unique Colour Code, a visual infographic that tells you exactly what’s in the mix.

If there’s only one ingredient in the colour, then there’s only one colour in the Colour Code, like these…

These eight Colour Codes are easy to crack because they are all single-ingredient colours that match perfectly with their solid-coloured Stamps.

But once we start combining these ingredients, formulas become fractions, and mixes get a little more mysterious.

Here’s a sample set of some of the half-and-half Colour Codes in the BASICS 1 collection:

Hue + Hue gives us another Hue.

Hue + White turns a Hue into a Tint.

And Hue + Black makes a Shade.

There are 19 different ways to pair the original eight ingredients into half-and-half colours, and their 2-part Codes are pretty easy to pair with the single-colour swatches we get when we mix those parts.

Can you picture their mixes?

Part colour savvy, part process of elimination, cracking Colour Codes and collecting Colour Stamps is a great way to add a little dose of colour to your day and inspire whatever you’re working on.

And if you’re not working on anything, this colour-full quest might be just what you need to get back on track.

PUT some FUN IN the FUN-DAMENTALs…

Here’s all you have to do to play along…

  • complete the form above to download and print the BTC Colour Tracker calendar

  • print out the page and cut out your Colour Stamps

  • keep an eye on your In Box and crack the codes for the new colours revealed in each email

  • find their matching Stamps

  • track each colour by pasting the Colour Stamp in place on the corresponding calendar day

Need a head start?

Here are the Colour Stamps that match the first three preview Codes shown above…

A Cyan Tone, a Magenta-Red Tint, and a Yellow-Green Shade… Can you see how each of these colour swatches match with the ingredients shown in their Colour Codes?

The more you match, the easier it gets.

Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying this calendar challenge. I’m not getting the colours right everytime but my “eye” is being trained. Thank you.
