If you're new to BTC, you may want to start by learning a little more ABOUT it. Oh wait, did I say 'a little'? I meant to say 'a lot.' There are 340 Colour Cards and 10 Colour Cubes (so far), so there's lots to say.

If you don't have Colour Cards, you're still more than welcome to wander around and explore what's here. This website is intended to be an accessible, relevant, and resource-rich compendium of theory and practice, with library, lessons, links, lore, and more to explore and understand colour in the 21st Century. When you're ready to break through colour with BTC Colour Cards of your own, you can get 'em here

If you're already a BTC Colour Fan, perhaps part of the BTC 'breakthrough' as a Backer on Kickstarter in the summer of 2015, scroll down this page for a preview of places you might like to explore further right here on this website. With cards in hand, bookmark this site as your colour companion, an evolving resource to enhance your BTC experience.

Have a look at what's here so far, and please get in touch with ideas and input about what else you'd like to see and how you'd like to see it. For now, what are you waiting for? Break through colour!

LEAP INTO COLOUR!

'Leap Into Colour' is a great way to dive in and immerse yourself, right here on this website. Posted as a 28+1 blog series in February 2016, the 'Leaps' are packed with theory, and if you've got Colour Cards, the Colour Labs will help you put that theory into practice. Intended primarily as a resource for BTC users to complement their BTC collection, the 'Leap!' series is also a chance to try your hand at playing with colour by playing with cards, even if you don't actually have them in hand.

CRACK COLOUR CODES

BTC   |   The Code Side

If you have Colour Cards, you may be wondering, "Just what the heck are all those letters, numbers, and symbols anyway?" The answer could fill a website (and I promise, it will!), but if you're looking for some intro info to crack the Colour Codes, enter the Hue Matrix, solve the Saturation Summary, or glide along the Value Slider, then 411 is the card to get you started.

MAKE COLOUR CUBES

If you have Cube Cards, it's time to think outside and inside the box. You can turn these specially designed 3 x 3 colour grid playing cards into a whole collection of 6-sided 3-dimensional models to complement your Colour Cards. A card for every colour, and every colour in its place on the Cubes.

The Colour Basics Colour Cube is just that: a simple 6-sided model that shows the always-there 8 Corners with their 19 Connectors in a single 3 x 3 x 3 model. Here's the 'How To' that covers the basics: How to Build a Colour Cube, Part 1.

The bigger 8-part BTC Colour Cube (and a companion Mini Cube) are built with the BTC Cube Cards deck. Magnets make it more 'attractive.' That 'How To' is here: How to Build a Colour Cube, Part 2.

Even if you don't have BTC Colour Cards, there's no library card required to browse through the stacks and see all the colours and concepts in the BTC collection. Corner by Corner, or 'quality controlled' into Hues, Tints, Shades, and Tones, you'll find them all here sorted into their various sets.

COLOUR YOUR DAY

Colour Every Day is the place to watch for the latest swatch, a random rollout of all the current and future colours in the BTC collection. The reveal started on January 1, 2016, and will continue for all 366 days of this 'Leap Into Colour!' leap year. Whether you've got your own cards or not, be sure to make this your daily dose of 'Vitamin BTC'.

And while it's good to get to know a colour on its own, it's also fun to see a bunch of colours all together. You can see them month by month in a colourful clickable chronology.

ABOUT

This is me. At 3. Pre-BTC. It's not a recent photo. I'm older now, and more colourful.

Despite the white T-shirt and the lack of Kodachrome in this photo, this is pretty much all you need to know: I. Love. Colour. It was true then, and it's still true today.

But enough about me. Here's more ABOUT BTC.
