3 MINI MONO BLOCKS

Each of these monochromatic Minis showcases a primary Hue, plus its Tint, Shade, Tone, and Value. There’s also a sixth panel with four Code Icons, identifying exactly what each variation is.

There are twelve Mono Blocks all together, but if you only have three, these are the three to have. Everything you need to know about Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, in these Base Hue buildables are the foundation of BTC…

THE ‘HUTISHTO’ MINI CUBE QUARTET

What do you get when our mini but mighty Hube gets tinted by White, shaded by Black, or muted by both? You get the ‘HuTiShTo’ Mini Cube Quartet: six Hues, six Tints, six Shades, and six Tones.

Start with the classic Hube, and add three moody variations, to show all six Corner Hues faded, shaded, and desaturated. The Qualities of Colour have never been more clear…

THE 3x3x3 TONEs CUBE

If you’ve got the BTC Colour Cube Starter Set, then you’ve got the full-sized Boosted Cube, a 3-dimensional map that shows all the Hues, Tints, and Shades on the outside of this 5x5x5 colour space.

But you don’t have the 3x3x3 cube that shows all the Tones hiding on the inside. Being offered by popular demand, this is a rare chance to give your Boosted Colour Cube an inner boost…

COLOUR TILES STARTER SET

Every colour in the BTC system can be named, but only the eight Corner Colours have actual names: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, White, and Black. All the other colours have a ‘picture ID,’ an infographic icon that tells us what’s in the mix.

Going deeper, every colour has its own set of definable Properties, telling us everything we need to know about its Hue (“what colour is it?”), its Saturation (“how pure is it?”), and its Value (“how light or dark is it?”).

BTC DIY Colour Tiles (and the signature Colour Cards they’re based on) are double-sided resources, with the colour swatch on one side and the not-so-secret codes on the other.

The Hue Matrix shows a breakdown of the colour’s primary Hue ingredients. The Saturation Summary sums up the primaries into a single 4-part formula. And the Value Note tells us how light or dark each colour is on the single-digit Value Scale between White (Value 0) and Black (Value Note 10).

Both the Colour Side and the Code Side are useful for different reasons at different times, and both are good to have handy.

This PDF gives you matching pairs, colours and codes… 28 times, ready to sort, sequence, and scheme, then shuffle and start again.

‘MATCH & MIX’ SWATCH SHEET

There are 27 different colours in BTC’s 3x3x3 Basics Colour Cube. The Mini Basics in the BTC Colour Cube Starter Set shows you where they are, but infographic Colour Code icons show you what they are, and why.

Matching each of these 27 colour swatches with its iconic code is easy (especially if you have the Colour Tiles Starter Set 😉).

But once you’ve matched them, can you find, make, or mix them using real world materials?

This PDF includes 27 Colour Stamps, 27 Code Icons, and a fill-in-the-blanks Swatch Sheet that you can use to match and then mix your own set of samples using your favourite paints, coloured pencils, markers, collage fodder, polymer clay, or other art materials. This is where theory shifts to practice, and practice makes palettes…
